People respond to good leadership! Period!

It is in all aspects of our lives, not just business. A
mother is a leader in her home;
a son may be leader of a team sport or a daughter the
leader of the debate team.
A group relies on the person in charge to actually lead
them to success.
A true leader is highly ethical, honest, respected, and
understands that leadership
is all about connecting with people….not managing them.
In our society we have leaders and followers.
The leaders that I admire seem to have all of these in
place:
They think BIG! A John Maxwell says “Leaders see before
others see.”
They believe when no one else believes. They have good
intuition when to stick to it
and when to change direction. They know the difference
between aloneness and loneliness.
They involve others and delegate. If someone on their
team deserves recognition they give it,
or if they have skills to run a project, they allow them
to.
Too many managers want the glory for themselves or are insecure
and won’t allow
someone under them in title
to manage something they feel they should be managing.
They miss the opportunity to recognize and develop their
direct line.
They are able to influence, by getting others to see what
is in it for them.
Not manipulate to just get results.
When goals are met they celebrate then set a new vision.
People will follow your lead willingly if you are honest,
ethical, if you are consistent
and treat them with respect. It’s all about people…not
projects….if you don’t like people….
then don’t put yourself in a position to lead them.
You can improve your own self- respect and become an
inspiration to others. How great is that!
