LinkedIn Company Pages: YAY or NAY?

Saddle fungus.

LinkedIn Company Pages: YAY or NAY?
Jerome Knyszewski

Despite the platform’s huge success over just a few short years, there are still some people
out there who wonder just how important it is to have a LinkedIn company page.
Surely their company website holds greater importance, right? Well, not exactly.
Of course your company website is important and a big part of business
as well as your online reputation but there are many things that LinkedIn can offer
that your own site cannot. Here are some things to keep in mind:
When somebody visits your website, they are inclined to believe that everything on your site
is just a bunch of marketing mumbo jumbo. In other words, it doesn’t hold as much weight
with your target audience as the content you post to your LinkedIn profile. Your LinkedIn profile
is perceived to be more “real” than your website and it wins you a whole lot more trust.
Not all websites are up to date with a list of current employees.
LinkedIn allows users to see both current employees as well as previous employees if they wish.
Your company website might not have received much attention in terms of an update in a while. Your LinkedIn page, on the other hand, is so easy to manage yourself that you can update
any bit of info at the drop of a hat. LinkedIn company pages are likely to be more up to date
than company websites which shows where the greater interest is.
LinkedIn is also a great place to source talent and post job openings.
Consider the amount of people you can reach by posting a job. Now think of how many people
you will reach by posting the listing on your website. There’s a huge difference!
Of course, you should post job openings on both your site and LinkedIn page
but realize that the LinkedIn posting is likely to get a lot more responses.
When viewing products on a company page on LinkedIn, you can also see which staff member
you should contact in that regard. With company websites, this is most likely not the case.
LinkedIn also allows companies to “spy” on their competition.
Check out what they are doing right or wrong and learn from it.
You can also see who is following you while your company website will only reveal vague data
like general daily, weekly or monthly traffic, bounce rates and so on.
With LinkedIn, you will get a clearer understanding of your target audience
and be able to really engage the audience.
Finally, LinkedIn company pages help you increase your reach and online presence.
If your employees are all on LinkedIn and listed as working for your company,
then your business is going to get a whole lot of extra exposure! Keep your employees active
on LinkedIn and keep your LinkedIn company page active on a daily basis.
